It's time to pack and travel

Whoo whooo! I love travelling, and whenever given a chance, I'm always ready to pack, get to know new places, and experience new cultures. When my team and I were told, "Guys, we're going to Porto for a Team Building in September!" I got so excited I couldn't sleep for nights. Not that the undead need much sleep, but you know what I mean.

These 4 days were something else. I got to know my team better, we enjoyed ourselves, laughed together, walked through history-filled streets, sipped on the well-known Porto wine, tasted unbelievably scrumptious food, and watched the sun sink on the Douro, the river that crosses this charming city.

Of course, we always kept the main objective of this get-together in mind: to have and implement unique ideas to offer you the best casino service and promotions.

Porto, the invincible city

Team building activities in the Cidade Invicta (Invincible City) are more than just a way to strengthen bonds between coworkers; they're an opportunity to create lasting memories while exploring a unique and captivating destination.

It all started on Saturday evening as we rushed to the airport in Johannesburg, where most of us are originally from. Going through metal detectors or red tape at passport control couldn't remove the grins from our faces. After a 12-hour flight, our bodies were exhausted, but the excitement had not vanished a bit. And what a reception! Our hotel had spectacular views of the Douro River and the intricate Luiz I bridge. Oh, the late nights staring through the window when all was quiet and feeling the city's beauty flood my spirit.

There was no time to waste, though. We could be tired but there was just too much to explore and we didn't want to miss a bit of this trip. We took no time to hit the streets and absorb all that the city had to offer us right after our arrival.

Brainstorming and growing

9 am on Monday was the time we walked into the cosy hotel meeting room to brainstorm ideas and introduce ourselves and our work to the team. We were all there: managers, developers, designers, content creators, you name it. This was the moment I realised how much potential my team has and how, with the right resources, we can have SlotVibe ranking among the best online casinos in the industry.

Yummy food and cocktails galore

As a foodie, I don't eat just to feed myself. I want to try new tastes and feel each flavour while I close my eyes and wait for my mind to tell me what sensations they evoke. In short, eating is an art for me.

The Portuguese take massive pride in hosting and serving the best meals, especially in the northern province where Porto is located. As the famous Portuguese author Mia Couto says, Cooking is not a service; it's a way of loving others.

Each ingredient is carefully chosen to bring flavour and colour to your plate. Presentation is mandatory: so much attention is paid to details to make each dish a masterpiece. The waitpeople can't get tired of asking if you are well and if there's anything you want to repeat or try. In short, you are loved through food.

The most challenging part was choosing. All the dishes written on the menus looked so delicious I just wanted to order everything at the same time! Trust me when I say that Portugal is not the best place for dieting, hehe. You just won't resist.

After the food came the drinks. After all, what's a team building without late nights at the hotel's bar sipping on mojitos and margaritas? Days started early, but we still stayed up late for chats and laughs while watching the Douro River by night.

I don't want to go back!

All good things come to an end just too quickly. After months of excitement looking forward to this adventure, and all the unforgettable moments we lived, it was time to pack again and return home. Our hearts were full, but I couldn't avoid a stubborn tear that insisted on rolling down my face as I put everything together and prepared to walk out of the hotel. I hate goodbyes. I just wanted to stay in Porto forever with this awesome team.

We checked out and headed to the airport. The promise we made was that we WILL meet again before we can even start missing each other. A sentimental chick like me will still miss everybody anyway, but I know we are here for each other, no matter what.
